  • Award Winning Course

We learn as we go. If we stop going, we stop learning.

When trying to change external conditions or how we experience them, neither strategy is effective when used alone. Yet, too often, we keep hoping that by changing the external conditions of our lives it will provide a solution.

Status is a powerful symbol of happiness. We assume that by acquiring these status symbols (wealth, grades, awards), we can be happy too. But symbols can be deceptive. The reality is that the quality of our life does not depend on what we own, but rather, how we feel about ourselves and about what happens to us.

To improve life, one must improve the quality of experience.

At Pivot Adventure, we don't give insider tips about how to be happy. Instead, we teach principles. We accomplish this through positive human experiences—joy, creativity, the process of total involvement—referred to as flow.

Pivot Adventure has developed an adventure therapy workshop designed to help students build a compass to navigate through life's challenges. Throughout the workshop, students develop the tools they need to increase their resiliency.

Students learn how to turn the struggles they face into learning experiences. By doing so, they can create a better quality of life. This course is intentionally designed for adolescents (12 to 17 years old) struggling with anxiety, depression, suicide ideation, adversity and more. Our course is award winning and has been featured at TEDxSLC.

    Discover your potential. Level up.

Contrary to what we usually believe, the best moments in our lives are not the passive, receptive, relaxing times. The best moments usually occur when a person's body or mind is stretched to its limit in a voluntary effort to accomplish something difficult and worthwhile.

Optimal experience is thus something that we can make happen. It is how we respond to stress that determines whether we will profit from misfortune or be miserable.

Forces within ourselves and in the environment stand in our way. Without guidance, this process can take years of trial-and-error. Pivot Adventure accelerates this personal transformation for teenagers and their families by providing a deep view of change.
