At Pivot Adventure Co., everything we have built is in opening doors and creating greater access to long-term medical care. We are the only affordable alternative to wilderness therapy. There is no need to take out a second mortgage. Here is a list of additional resources to assist you. Pivot Adventure receives no incentives or kick-backs for recommending these services.
Verify what your insurance provider will cover: Pivot Adventure is an out-of-network Outdoor Youth Treatment program and is unable to guarantee any reimbursement from insurance. However, it is quite common to see insurance companies cover partial (sometimes full) cost of therapy sessions with someone in your network. We will partner with this mental health specialist to help keep your costs down. No other program is doing anything like this.
Insurance advocates: With all the research available to prove the efficacy of wilderness therapy (professionally termed Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare), coupled with the Mental Health Parity Act, families are seeing more reimbursement than ever. There are several insurance advocates on the market that could assist you to help get your claims paid.
Apply for a scholarship: There are several organizations that are transforming the lives of youth in crisis by providing grants, support and hope through adventure/wilderness therapy programs and beyond. Ask a Pivot Adventure team member to help point you in the right direction.
Healthcare lending institutions: We have partnered with Prosper Healthcare Lending for small personal loans. Prosper Healthcare Lending offers peer-to-peer small personal loans at affordable fixed payment, fixed interest loans (not a high interest credit card). Applying doesn’t impact a family's credit score, no retroactive interest and no prepayment penalties.
Medical tax deduction: Some of the services provided may qualify under a medical tax deduction. While we do not provide tax advice, we can provide you with documentation (upon request) for your accounting needs.
