• Covid-19 Health and Safety Protocols

    Updated August 2021

Out of abundance in caution, Pivot Adventure will be re-implementing mask wearing for all participants and guides when we are within 6 feet of each other. Although we spend most of our time outdoors, the nature of our activities can bring us close together. For example when we are playing games or tying students into ropes.

Masks must be worn over the mouth and nose. They must be at least two layers thick. Pivot Adventure will provide masks for anybody who needs one. The simple rule of thumb here is: Masks will be required indoors including in the van. Masks are also required outdoors when within 6 feet of someone else.

This means students may pull down their masks once climbing and have cleared 6 feet from the belayer. They can also pull down their mask when hiking if they are at least 6 feet from other participants.

At this point, we know everyone is experiencing COVID mental fatigue. We totally get it. It's difficult to be "on guard" all the time. We all want the same thing--to be done with this. For now, this is the safest way we can protect all of the kids and protect our guides who work with this population 5 days per week. Please remember, we are a small business and don't have many employees to call upon if staff get sick. Not everyone can get a vaccine who would like to. If this current mask policy does not work with you and your family and you wish to withdraw from the course, we are happy to work with you on rescheduling in the future or refunding. We are doing our best and hope you will understand this decision. We will keep updating our mask policy as things continue to change.

    Thank you,

    Pivot Adventure Team
