  • Covid-19 Health and Safety Protocols

    Updated December 2021

Out of abundance in caution, Pivot Adventure will be re-implementing mask wearing for all participants and guides for indoor activities and while riding in the van. At this point, we know everyone is experiencing COVID mental fatigue. We all want COVID to be done with. For now, this is the safest way we can protect all of the kids and guides who are participating in groups 5 days a week. Please remember, we are a small nonprofit and we don't have many employees to call upon if staff get sick. We do not want to cancel programs that students need. Some of the youth that we work with are also in vulnerable populations and we want this to be a safe environment for everyone. If this current mask policy does not work with you and your family and you wish to withdraw from the course, we are happy to reschedule something in the future or offer you a refund. We are doing our best and hope you will understand our decision.

Masks will be required for all participants and guides for indoor activities and while riding in the van. Students may choose to take off their masks outside. Masks must follow CDC recommendations and have two or more layers, completely cover the nose and mouth, fit snugly against the sides of the face without gaps, and have a nose wire to prevent air from leaking out of the top of the mask. Note that the last recommendation may disqualify many cloth masks. Pivot Adventure will have masks available for all participants if they do not have a mask that meets the CDC recommendations. This is for the safety of everyone in the group. If participants are not willing to wear their masks properly, they will be given one warning. After their warning, they may be asked to sit out a week.

We will keep updating our mask policy as things continue to change.

    Thank you,

    Pivot Adventure Team
